Book Review: All That Was
I liked this book a lot!
The story was very sweet, and I love reading about lawyers who realize their true calling. The ghost aspect was interesting and I think my favorite part of the book was the diary entries by Elizabet. I really enjoyed how Emily and Elizabet’s stories were woven together. I’m a big believer in everything happens for a reason, so I was happy to see that play out here as well.
I was not expecting so much of this book and found that I couldn’t put it down for several days! At times the writing style was a bit choppy in the dialogue, and I found myself getting frustrated by Emily and her inability to face her grief because I wanted her to move on in her life and be happy, but I loved the way the story resolved everything in the end. I enjoyed the historical fiction aspects as well, and thought it was very well researched and captivating.
