Book Review: 28 Summers

My first review since coming back to the blog! I’m so excited to be reviewing 28 Summers by Elin Hilderbrand!

Summary

Imagine meeting the person of your dreams, but time and circumstance are never on your side. Do you let the person go? Or do you take whatever you can get? In the case of Mal and Jake, they take their one weekend a summer and fall in love. But of course, not every love story goes the way we want it to.

Review

I’ve never read an Elin Hilderbrand book before but I’m so glad I picked this one up in the airport before my most recent trip to Hawaii! It was a great beach read, and while I didn’t finish it until I was back on the mainland, I really liked following the journey of Mal and Jake

Also I totally want to get a place in Nantucket.

I’m not usually a fan of secret affairs, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t captivated by their love and sobbing by the end of the book. I wish there had been a bit more consistency in the language used to start off each summer and some more detail about the older years, but I still really enjoyed this book and will definitely be back for some more of Elon’s books!
